Duba, female percussion

With a united passion for West-African rhythms, the Duba members met in Brussels through the Guinean charismatic master-percussionist Babara Bangoura (they all followed his courses). DUBA, founded by Babara in 2008, consists of women only and combines percussion with songs, dance and other instruments like Krin, Kora, shakers. The feminine input provides a unique style and interpretation of traditional Mandingues rhythms, that are originally played by men only; an interesting mix of power, gentleness, tradition and modern ideas.
